The EVO sits on the floor, rotates through the horizontal plane and records the angle and the distance to every surface around it. The points are processed in real time by the app, so what you take away from a site visit is not a page of numbers waiting to be drawn up — it is a finished 2D floor plan. Export it as DXF and open it in AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit or any other CAD program; CSV and TXT files are exported as well.
Distance accuracy is ±1 mm and angular accuracy ±0.018 degrees, which comes to roughly ±2 mm across a full indoor scan within a seven-metre radius, with a maximum measurement range of 40 metres. A room that takes twenty minutes with a tape measure, a sketchpad and a second pair of hands takes one person and a few seconds here. Because the device records the geometry itself, the errors that creep into every manual survey — a misread figure, a wall nobody noted, a sketch that makes no sense two days later — never reach the drawing in the first place.
