Automatic scanning: Press a single button and the 2Dscanner starts measuring. Left to run, it captures 2,000 points in about four minutes. Accuracy is ±2 mm indoors within a 7 m radius. The range is 40 m, where accuracy is about ±3 cm.

Full control: You control the scan at every moment. You can add photos and notes to the drawing exactly where you need them, pause and resume, and rescan details. You can also adjust the scanning step to capture fewer points where you don’t need them, on straight walls for example. Smart Scan does this automatically.

Simple rangefinder: The 2Dscanner also works as a simple laser rangefinder. For distance measuring, the ERA1D does the job even better. It connects to the same app, so you can take measurements while you scan, without paper or handwritten notes.

Point cloud: The 2Dscanner’s point cloud is made of discrete, structured points, not a loose, unorganized point-cloud file. This keeps it accurate and easy to work with. When straight lines are detected, the app displays them and they are exported to DXF along with the points. You don’t need to guess the real lines.

Scan combination: The 2Dscanner can join separate scans using reference points taken during scanning. It works like a traverse in surveying: you target reference points you have already scanned, and the scans are merged. A single reference point is enough, as long as it is followed by a straight line. Corners are detected automatically and can be used as reference points, with no precise targeting needed.

Vertical scanning: Scanning can be performed vertically or at an inclined angle. The 2Dscanner has a high-precision accelerometer. Horizontal scans are automatically corrected as if the device were perfectly aligned, while vertical or inclined scans are automatically detected.
